Is this price realistic?
« on: March 22, 2016, 10:44:11 AM »
I've just seen this on ebay, very similar to mine except mine is running and has full MOT.  I just wondered because I thought a bike like that would only be worth about £750 at the most.

Should there be a link to what you have seen?

its a trader pushing their luck,

it does have a wonderful patina of neglect,

it what happens when you don't clean, maintain .

it would take double that price to bring it close to original

oh good, as I thought, it would be crazy otherwise.  It doesn't even run, there could be all sorts of things wrong with it.

Prices seem to be all over the place, the only constant is waves of tidy but not exceptional bikes at £2500, anything either side of that seems quite random.

I'm watching the market as I'm still considering selling my 550. The rolling resto has kind of restarted, as not having trials bike transport has free'd up some time, but at least it'll help the price.

I think these 500's are really on the up at the moment
I advertised a mediocre 500 k0 and a great little 400...
The 500 went straight away and I could've sold my k2 twice over too...but j just don't want rid of that yet.
The 400 is still in my garage loads of interest but no one has taken it yet. ..
Im not saying the 400 days have gone but I do think the 500's are gaining in popularity and that is reflecting in the higher prices
..only a few years back you could grab gooduns for a grand..you have to be lucky these days to get one for that money now

Very realistic price but, a unreal description.

it would take double that price to bring it close to original
My project bikes are just in the sorrow state as the one linked and I paid like € 200,- each... will take a lot more then just twice that to get them roadworthy and nice looking again...
