Tricks & Tips / Front brake service / set up 400/4 advice please« on: November 20, 2016, 05:40:52 PM »
Just getting my 400 up and running for pre resto check for any gremlins.
Motor running suprisingly well bar some primary chain and camchain noise. Dare not ride it far as front brake useless even by sohc standards! I know this is well covered on the forum but can't easily find relevant posts. Can someone point me to best post or just advise from experience. Tim 49

Where's My Old Bike? / Spooky!« on: June 20, 2016, 10:58:17 PM »
Called in to look at a 500/4 advertised on ebay at a relatively local bike shop nearby - Bill Lomas's. (Yes Guzzi v8 fame etc...)
Anyway, chatting with his son, the now owner, I was blithering on about back in the day I had one of these, bla bla - so did he etc. Said his was black, so was mine. Told him I had bought it off a chap called Haggis. It turns out the guy I was talking to had had it from new and sold it to him . He then realed off the reg etc.. Small world... Tim 52

Looking to get my 400 up and running to see if there are any problems before I start restoration.
No clutch cable at present, so looking to get one. Are original parts still available and what are the best pattern brands? What issues should I be concerned about etc. Advice appreciated. Tim 54

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
That price? Would that be a sandcast superdream or something? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201223823472&globalID=EBAY-GB&alt=web |
