CB500/550 / Couple of questions. CB500.
« on: June 18, 2015, 06:26:49 PM »
Some more for gents. Sorry. Lol.
Front disc, I've found out it's 4mm thick what about overall diameter and the PCD?
The kill switch, I get what it's for but how does it actually work, wouldn't turning the ignition off have the same effect?

Once again thanks.

CB500/550 / CB 500 Front brake caliper and swing arm
« on: June 08, 2015, 10:29:57 AM »
Im missing one of these for my project, there are calipers and the mounting arms on Ebay, works out pretty expensive. Iv looked to see if there is a more modern caliper that fits directly to the fork mounts but cant find one. Do they exsist? if so can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks.

CB500/550 / South Wales help
« on: June 05, 2015, 10:25:40 AM »
Very cheeky question, are there any members in SW that could help me out with a project. Not parts wise but advice and know hows, im just outside Bridgend and if possible id like someone to show me what to do on certain parts of the bike. I can throw in a few beers if someone comes and gives me a hand with the bike. Big thanks. :)

CB500/550 / 7/8 Handlebar to 25mm conversion.
« on: June 03, 2015, 09:01:14 AM »
I have the chance to get a set of bars that are 25mm and very expensive for a good price, but the clamp is 7/8 on my cb500 and the bottom section is built into the  triple tree. Is there a simple and easy quick fix to change to 25mm clamping or is it a non starter. Thanks.

Any one know of an auto jumble in Wales or just over the border, looking for bits and bobs for my chopper project. Mainly after a Frisco style petrol tank or something very close to it. Thanks. Something like the pic attached.

« on: May 12, 2015, 08:49:32 PM »
Hello, im Matt from south wales and im just about to start a chop project. Its a 70's chopper frame, girder forks and a Honda CB 550 four engine,. I can guarantee you gents ill be picking your brains as im no bike builder and no very little about engines. First bit of advice i need is whats the best route to go down with the engine? I have the Haynes manual for the bike, is best to sit down with the manual and the engine and go through it? Thanks in advance.
