My cb550k3 was taken off the road before the sorn came about. So its not on a sorn. I phoned the dvla up a couple of years ago and said would they put it on a sorn.
The answer from the dvla was NO. It can only be done when taxing the vehicle. Maybe this has changed?. Its not even declared as an historic vehicle yet and without a sorn in place it might not be possible to do at the post office so its another 10 week wait for the paper work to clear the dear old dvla.

From 1 February 2021 the introduction of the ban on 10-year-old tyres came into force. It seems to only apply to commercial transport.... lorrys, buses etc at the moment. I wonder how long it will be before it is applied to all vehicles.
Maybe its a good thing. Maybe!

I needed to pull that rotor off my cb360. I wanted to check the starting clutch since its making a racket.
I dont have a rotor puller. The suzuki GT550 rotor is dead easy. A bolt or 2 and it can prized off.
It looked like I needed an M16 bolt to get the rotor off the cb360. But wait a minute..... the rear axle bolt on the GT550 also is a M16. I had a spare so did need to take the one off the gt550. It fitted the cb360 rotor fine. A couple of turns and off popped the cb360 rotor.
So if you own a Suzuki GT550 & a CB360 and you want to remove the rotor on the cb360..... use the gt550 rear axle. Who would have thought. Unlikely I know.

Depends on what its for - Import first reg 8-10 weeks
Oh gawd so, sometime in August then. Assuming I ticked all the right box's. Plenty of time to sort out those dripping carbs then. A new carb valve set from DSS is required. At lest the carbs can be off/on quickly...... unlike the cb550k3 I also have. No point in looking out for the posty for another couple of months. Ta Nairb

Sent off the paperwork for the registration for the cb360. Just wondering in these times what the waiting times are likely to be to get the v5. Long gone are the days of walking into the local dvla offices and getting the paperwork verified and checked on the same day. Sent 2 weeks ago.... So is it sometime next year or maybe before xmas or 6 weeks ??
I did once get a new V5 within 7 working days. Must have been done by a new recruit who was still keen.

Trouble is thet would all be old and corroded
I guess thats the answer. Not seen one for ages on ebay. Thats why I asked if the uk model was not sealed unit. I will get one from DSS. Must put an order together. The fuel tap is weeping a bit + a few other bits. But its all together and running. Now its the final fettling and getting all to be working as it should and not just working. Nairb

I finally found the part numbers for the UK reflector and bulb bits. It seems that David S does a *REPRO*HEADLIGHT here : - https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/partnumber_33120268632P/Has anybody tried one of these. Fair bit cheaper that original. With the number of 250/360G5 in this country I thought there would be a few of on ebay. But if the David S product fits ok then its the way forward. Ta Nairb

Hello, Did the Uk CB360 G5 have a bulb headlight and not a sealed beam unit?. I have a USA cb360 K0 import and its the sealed beam headlamp. It does have both beams working so its ok for now. But I would change it for the separate bulb system. Im sure the CB250G5 UK model was NOT sealed beam??.
Has anybody changed the sealed beam for the bulb headlamp. Ta Nairb

I remember reading on this forum or somewhere that there was a recommended speedo & rev counter restorer in Lincolnshire. I just cannot find that info at the moment. The clocks have just stopped being accurate after 46 or so years.
I would rather take them to the restorer and pick them up than trust the post.
I know there are several good clock restorers about but someone closer to notts is preferred.
Thanks Nairb

Thanks for the info. I bought one of those fibreglass kits from Halfords in the end. All in one box. Having not done this before I have not made the best of jobs but it is good enough that it fits back on the bike ok. Much better than having no side panel.
Next time I would do it with smaller fibre glass patches and one bit at a time. But its a cheap solution.

Where did all those side panels go??. They did not rust that's for sure.

I used to repair tubes with patches when I was a penniless student. Yup I used to do the same many years ago. Now old age and a few more pennies has changed all that. Here is a pic of the old inner tube. Fair old patch needed to fix it. All from a small screw and about 50 mph. [ Guests cannot view attachments ] Thanks to all. New inner fitted. Nairb

So at a lowish speed The rear kicked out and I stopped within 50 meters. Lucky really. And there it was, a flat rear tyre. Within an hour I was on the back of a pickup and taken home. All very civilized.
Heres a pic of the offending nail, or screw . [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Its a tyre with a tube. So in times gone past all I have done is replaced the inner tube with a new one. But I have wondered if I should also have the tyre itself repaired also. I have gotten old and the doubts are creeping in. I always thought a new inner tube was all thats needed. ta Nairb

What is the rev counter used for??. And one of the front indicators is pointing backwards. Maybe the bike goes backwards also.

For those who are or might have to wait for tyres from Demon Tweeks ....... They said I would get delivery of a set of Metzelers by the start of March or later. Yesterday I had an email saying they are ready for dispatch. And today they have arrived. And the dot code is within the last 3 months. And at a good price. Good work from Demon Tweeks. No extra charges. No extra carrier/tax to be paid.
So thats a couple of jobs to be done..... fitting them.

So my latest toy arrived several months ago, almost complete - at least it saves the long hunt for those unobtainable parts...... The left side panel does exist. But in bits. I can of course use the bike without a side panel but its nice to have one.
Considering how many cb250/360 blue bikes have been made and imported into this country I thought there might be the odd one posted on that favorite site. So far there has not been a LHS one posted. Or I have missed it.
So I thought I might have ago at repairing the broken one..... see pic

Has anybody found a way of fixing these plastic panels. We are not talking "show Queen" bike, so it does not need to be perfect. With the current/permanent import tariffs/Tax issues I am not so keen on buying from abroad.
