Here's an old picture of my now long-gone village motorcycle dealer showroom. Can anyone satisfy my curiosity and tell me what " The rider agent" refers to? I have a slightly later picture of the showroom with the wording painted over.

Lovely period photo.

Is that the original premises in Eckington where Charlie Freemans was?

Maybe 'the rider' was a brand of something...riding gear? Dig out the old magazines and scan the adverts!

Agent in that orientation suggests working for the rider to procure motorcycle on behalf of the rider prospective owner.
Perhaps not affiliated to or contracted to a certain brand/factory. Perhaps as we'd understand it now, a free agent.
Seemed to exist as non tied and would buy in from other local proscribed dealers on a trade basis to supply demand when someone came in to buy something.
Possibly ;D
