Front brakes are early 750 type but rear looks like an F1. wheels could be Lester, its been a long time since i saw them. Never liked Dresda swing arms as they used big alloy bearings pivoting on the mounting bolt instead of the collar

DO NOT try turning the screw with any tool ---that is guaranteed to ruin it. The slot is there purely to aid building and NOT to help tension.

Its an automatic system that works very well until ruined by people who do not read the manual properly.

Thay can be repaired if not to bad but have to be removed to do it.

That collar is suposed to be there and aint supposed to come out. The seal outer can be a bitch but you must do it without damaging the internal surface it goes in on or oil will leak up arround the outside.

Only small spring i remember goes on the damper before you slide it in so it bears on the unseen top of that collar

A new chain when first fitted will have nearly zero play, Ive seen totaled ones at 20,000 and good ones still at 60,000. depends of level of thrash and how well iwas kept in tune (especially carb balance)

Well the "Bleed nipple" you removed was definately non standard so the caliper has been modified but as to wether the thread has been tapped out who knows, I suggest you take the nipple you took out to a bolt supplier and find out what nut threads on to it not forgetting to try AF as well as metric. That will give you the thread it is to see what fits.

As to Silvers reply I happen to agree that the 750 has only had two different Bleed Nipples , 7mm and 10mm so if yours is different its either not Honda or Modified.

Was this a US import? They have a habit of adulterating anything to fit!!

« on: January 27, 2014, 04:51:07 PM »
CAREFULL with the solenoid wiring----you need to check what your starter button does before anything else as Honda used two different wirings.

(1) The early bikes had one Yellow/Red wire and grounded to the bars
(2) The later bikes had two wires Black and Yellow/red(I think) and put power to the solenoid

This alters the way the wires need to work at the solenoid

The markings were either an "F" at the front or an arrow along one side that was not easy to see

All the national post offices have an "agrement" to deliver in their own countries, and HMRC charge VAT on the total of value PLUS postage

The one in there is not standard and has been home made. If the thread is the same the one supplied by DS is OK if its been tapped out you need a repair kit like the one in Mikes picture which i imported several of from the USA and have a few left
