Nurse Julie I agree and see the advice from ACPO has been clarified a bit, it's ok to drive somewhere 'local' for exercise etc, they are trying to stop the public turning up en masse at known beauty spots, just needs a bit of commonsense applied I think.

well have to admit I haven't ridden mine since lockdown but lockdown is to minimise social contact and if you have no intention of stopping etc, what the hell? though the point about a breakdown or crash is well made and not something I had considered

Wondered if you lot are still out riding? seems to me that if you just go for a ride and not interact with anyone it's fine, there are plenty of cyclists about and if you cough in a full face it's going to be a lot more contained than with a cycle helmet! And no, we haven't got it in our house as temps all normal etc etc

I have PD46A carbs on mine, once clean they are fine despite other 'views' on them, also have fast idle screw which they should all have, but don't.

Have had the float bowls off my carbs a few times, never renewed the gaskets and has never leaked, guess I'm lucky ?

I recently had a misfiring issue, bike would be fine but after about 15 miles or so when it got hot it started to misfire, put it down to leads/caps/ coils breaking down but eventually misfired when idling so pulled off the leads one by one and when I took off no.1 - no difference so it was number 1 and was not coils or leads or caps as I switched them and it was the same. so looked at fuel and carbs, luckily can take bowl off the outside carbs so took off bowl, took out jets, nothing amiss at all, all clean and dandy but put it back together and has been perfect ever since! go figure....

No washer, no spring and no o ring, but none of my other carbs have them but they are, and have always been fine...

CB500/550 / PD46A slight leak
« on: June 24, 2019, 12:04:07 PM »
All carb problems are thankfully behind me now as it's running sweetly now. The only thing wrong is an occasional drip from the air screw on no 2 carb, there is no o ring seal, and as far as I can see, nowhere for one to fit, is it possible for petrol to leak past the threads?

CB500/550 / No 1 Carb?
« on: June 08, 2019, 04:43:52 PM »
Recently cleaned carbs out and bike was running fine and dandy, now it is missing, no1 is not firing, plug out and is sparking just fine so has to be carb issue as when i take leads off all other cylinders it then runs like a pig, as it should, but when I disconnect no 1 it doesn't miss a beat, apart from the beat it misses anyway! so what can it be..any ideas?

550 with PD46A
