Thanks for the link. I have seen references to this set up but not this thread.

Wow, this was a relavation. May invest in this system, but first I will have to finish the tidy bit on the bike, make it look nice as well as make it more reliable.

Cheers

Unfortunately my experience with Honda's is limited to later models. My SP2 was a work of art wherever you looked. But having said that, my youth relates to the older ones, hence the purchase of the K1. Not a flash in the pan as I have just finished the restoration and sale of a Triumph Bonneville.
I think I enjoyed the work as much as riding the finished thing. It was sold for other reasons and the funds became available for the next toy, the K1.
Still to be fair the exhausts for the triumph were very good quality. Whole new learning curve then....
Thanks again for the info, greatly appreciated.
Hopefully the K1 will look nice when its finished

Hi , me again,

I have seen a Piranaha system for sale and wondered if anyone else had any knowledge of these. I was aware of their car systems, but not anything for bikes.

May buy if the price is right

Hi All,

Just been out in the garage taking a few bits off the K1. I will be doing a few jobs over the winter, to make the old girl a bit prettier.

Anyway, I took off the new (by previous owner) 4 into 4 system (from David Silver) and was amazed at the quality. The chrome plating was crap. Large aras did not look as if they had much if any plating in the areas that do not get seen.

I was a bit dissapointed to see this. I wondered if this was a rogue set or are they all like this.

I will have to make sure that they stay dry and clean if they are to last a reasonable time

Thoughts welcome

Cheers

Hi All, me again. Somewhere I found a review on the various books on CB750's. Thinks like the Haynes book and the Gold Series as well as the Mark Haycock book.
My kind wife has promised me one for Christmas, if I tell her which to get. Anyone else been here and could give some info.

Thanks in advance
Cheers

Thanks for the replies. I guess that I had best just go over everything with a spanner and check for anything loose.

Strange really as the bike goes well and appears smooth (engine wise), just has this high frequency thing through the throttle. May be some sort of resonance. Just need some decent weather to try out any fixes that we come up with.

I will post the results if we can find the problem

An odd problem, I admit. This is a friends bike and he has had this problem for a while. We have tried using a bar end weight to see if that helps, but not much. Could it be something to do wth the frequency of the vibration and the length of the handle bar?

Clutching at straws....Yes

Anyone any experience of this. Symtoms are a high frequency vibration through the throttle side of the bars. Enough to make your hand go numb after about 5 to 10 miles.
Engine is set up correctly, timing, valves and carbs well balanced.
Ideas appreciated

CB750 / Re: should I use synthetic oil in my 750?
« on: November 07, 2008, 02:05:14 PM »
What are people generally using. I have some Silkolene 10/40 (possible semi synthetic) for motorcyles, should I use it? or look for something a little less modern like a classic 10/40 from morris or similar.

Thanks

Hi Mike
Nice to read your rebuild story. Can you tell me where you got your wheels built please? I need to get my front done as the PO had it rebuilt with stainless spokes and the old rim. Really needs a new rim.

Thanks

Seamus
