More the point you need matching weights not sizes
Ok Thanks, the current Con rods are all the same weight C, plus the spare Con rod I have is also a C. Would it have left the factory with different size rods but the same weights ?

Ive read your posts with interest as Im just measuring up to order new bearings, unfortunately no markings are legible on the crank only on the rods, 3 number 2 and a 3. I do have a spare number 2 from another engine so I was thinking I could make a matching set if required

Would an engine come from the factory with all the same size conrods ? for example 4 no 2s ? or is it acceptable to mix them if the weights are the same ?

The 1.9 fl oz Honda Bond lasts Graham for about 10 sets of engine cases.
Do you use Hondabond 4 or HT Julie ?

CB350/400 / Crankshaft end float
« on: May 15, 2021, 06:10:22 PM »

I’ve stripped the 400 engine down today ready for the rebuild, I’m a bit concerned about the amount of end float on the crankshaft, the car engines I’ve done in the past had thrust washes on the crank to eliminate this but the Honda engine has nothing. There is no noticeable wear on the crank or the casings but when the crank is pulled from side to side by the stator rotor there’s movement and a definite clunk, the points plate was removed when I tried this, any ideas ? Thanks

After a long delay I'm ready to have the rebore done, the engineer has asked me to provide the standard bore size (51mm, 2.0079) and the Cruzinimage piston clearance ? I remember reading a post by Julie which said what Cruzinimage piston clearance was but I can't find it now. Thanks

If you really want to push the boat out, there is a set of plus 50's on Ebay, genuine unused Honda parts, includes rings, gudgeon pins and circlips. But, you might want to take out a mortgage, £300.
No thanks  :D

Another option is to apply the base coat then clear coat as normal, when dry scuff clear with 600 wet and dry, apply decal then apply another 3 coats of clear, colour sand and buff  :)
