Title: Thanks
Post by: allankelly1 on December 14, 2021, 12:04:04 AM
Hi all

Just like to say thanks to all that wished me luck with the back operation

Had it today and it was going to be just a removal of some small amount of vertebrae bone to ease the pressure on a bunch of nerves

Not so simple yes shave off a bit of bone but had to remove some of the disc too as it was rather knackered

I was told they may change tact once I was on the table, and one thing I always say is there is always someone worse off than you so be positive and be thankful for what you do have

Think I need to change my name to “Old bike engine” as it seems until you take it apart you don’t know what’s else  fooked

Oh well at least the op is over so I should now be on the way back up just may take a little longer

Take it easy everybody and have good Xmas and new year

Best wishes Al

Best wishes for your recovery Alan, always amazes me just how skilled people working in the human repair field are.

What we want to know though is,  what shell bearing colours were in there from  original build  ;D

Yes take care and get well soon. The down time will give you opportunity to think up some more fab engineering to wow us all with!

good luck with the recovery Alan. Just sit back and enjoy the turkey, pudding, nuts, drinks, quality street, mince pies, selection box and twiglets. You won't get bored!

Thanks all

Just got home

Oh well think the rear disc conversion is going to have to sit a while when the final bits are being made. But as the Race Tech stuff has a six week lead time as it’s supplied by shock tech in the Uk  but has to come from the states I shall get on with that order so it’s here when fully recovered

But just received a nice prezzy to cheer me up

Got the fork adjustable preload units today that look well made and include air preload too

So will put them away ready for the race tech kit

Excuse “nurse willow” in the background

Best wishes Al

Ehyup Al.

Glad to hear you're off the slab and chipper with it, well done mate. Take your time to getting better buddy, it's always the most frustrating route but very much the best route. Go steady and get planning!

Got a reply but it was mainly for measurements of existing cap. I've now replied to that with details etc so just awaiting a reply.

Forgot to say, get well soon  Al

Finally got the answer Roo, after sending dimensions and pictures they send me a link to one which will fit. However it was just a preload type and I wanted one with an air valve as well. So I told them that and they have offered to make me a pair but it will be 30 days, if you want a pair let me know and I'll ask them to make 2 pairs. Price is £45 for the air valve type or £34 I think for just the preload type. Need an answer as soon as you can please.

That's wicked Ken, well done for persuing them on these. I'm right up for that and in no particular rush so suits me fine. If they want some dosh up front fling me your bank details on a pm  and I'll bung the money over to you straight away.

Well done mate.
