Ted, so what your saying I have to solder a green earth wire to the inside of the indicator earthing plate and run that to the loom?

If I remember correctly I drilled a small hole on the bulb holder plate  then screwed a wire to the plate via an eye connector.
I might have used a small pop rivett it was a couple of years ago.  Then as you say ran the wire inside the front headlamp cross tube and into the headlamp bowl to the earth terminal that acts like a captive nut holder for the headlamp fitting side bolt.

Well done Ted. Great to hear your news after such a well documented build we have all followed. Expect to see you with the knee down when we get a warm Derbyshire!

Not sure about elsewhere in the UK, here in Derby it's still pretty cold for a long period of bike work.
It was only 58 deg F in there today - well below my comfort zone tbh.

I've decided to set the carbs up using a Morgan Carbtune Pro 4 that I ordered today so the tank will not be fitted until it's running with balanced carbs. It's been a relief to have it running as many here can empathise after a full strip down.
To spur me on I would like a couple of weeks of warm sunny weather.

I've have quite a lot of backlogs to clear in the house & garden before I take the 500 out for a run I will post some pics when the tank & side panels are in place.

To quote a good friend of mine, you know what’s at the leg end?

Yup, an arse

It’s great what you can gleen from a phone call or two to try a remote diagnosis.

Happy you’ve sorted it Dom

Such a deeply satifying moment when it comes back to life, now get it on the road.

Cheers

Good informative overview - many products I wasn’t aware of.

There's far more than I thought too  :)

Using supermarket snack crisp etc isle (or multiples of) as example, there must be considerable margin in these canned product to attract so many into developing and marketing them to the bike riding sector.

Looking really good and I agree those pipes look good.

Would love a bike lift like that, maybe next year...
