Cheers hairy.

Thankfully DK are footing the bill because they sold the bike stating original and solid exhausts. When I started the thing up it sounded amazing, but I soon realised why!! Ha ha

If that is original and solid I wonder what the bad ones looked like.

CB750 / Re: Generator cover is this bad?

Just looked at the pics on my pc rather than my phone. Yes, looks like a repair of some sort. Not that unusual really, when I was much younger and crazy I trashed 3 in a coupe of years, hard riding two up, it didn't have a centre stand, so the alternator cover was the first thing on the left hand side to scrape the road in a fast left hander. It didn't take long to grind right through the alloy and start leaking oil. I did a quick bodge with plumber's solder and a blowtorch first time, with it still on the bike. Stopped the leak till next time! Don't panic, they are all the same for all the 750s, only difference is the F2 one is painted black. There are plenty of good used ones about, and several places still have new old stock ones around £100-150.
Have to agree,a replacement cover is the way to go,looks like the filler is starting to fail.
Probably more bother than it is worth trying to repair it.

Glad you got it sorted,as I found out the correct routing makes all the difference.

When I bought my bike, (cb550) it was fitted with new aftermarket cables and routed wrongly which made the action very stiff.
After removing the cables, oiling them and rerouting as per the manual it made a world of difference.
Now have a smooth throttle which snaps back easily.
Best of luck with yours.

Was having a look at the cb500/550 shop manual.
On the contents list at the start the gearshift is marked down as gearshit.OOPS.

ITV4 so you will have to watch on the ITV Hub.

By the way the owner of that Phil Read replica is a very naughty man, at the least the bike deserved a polythene sheet over it. Still I'm sure that its going to be rescued now which is nice.

Looks like the porch roof above the bike has rotted away over the years loosing the bike any protection it may have had, shame really.
Wonder what the idea of the bicycle bell on the handlebars is.
