Can anybody with 3 leg engine bars fitted to their cb550 post a pic as i have bought a set but they dont seem to line up too well to the mounting holes.

Has anyone on here got a luggage rack fitted to their 550f.
I am reading that a rack from a k model wont fit f models.
I am after something period so if anyone has one fitted a pic would be great help.

I want to fit American bars to my cb550 to have a more upright riding position and just wanted to know does the switchgear need to have longer cables or should my UK switchgear be ok.

I have the parts for a dual disk conversion for my cb550f just wanted some opinions from those who have or have not done it.
Is it an easy conversion?
Is it worthwhile?
What all do I need apart from the calipers, disks and a master cylinder?
Does anybody have any pics and maybe a good how to.

How much should I expect to pay for a second hand set of 069a carbs and are they easy got.
I know condition will determine price just trying to gauge prices and what I should expect to pay if I ever see a set on eBay.

Can anybody tell me how the steering lock works that mounts on the side of the headstock.
I have bought a new lock which has slotted in ok and I have the spring behind it .
Do I need to push in and turn some way to get it to lock???

Have we any members near Walsall?
Reason I ask is it have been trying to get hold of a shiney orange panel or tank to take to my painter and a cb550 shiney orange tank has just popped up on eBay but it's collection only.
If I was lucky enough to win it could anybody pick it up for me and post on obviously I will pay the postage....

Anybody got a set of 550 0649A carbs they are willing to part with.
One of mine has disintegrated inside was sitting full of water and the metal spring in the bowl has rotted and corroded the aluminium.
Don't mind the condition even an incomplete set would do .

Hi
I'm having issues as I can't get any power to my headlight.
I bought my loom from eBay usa a few years ago and I'm not sure if my loom is from a k or f model.
Everything else works fine and all the wiring matches up to the awitch especially etc.
The loom connects in the headlight and in a junction box under the tank.
The only difference is see is the tail lights and instrument lights come on when the ignition is switched on but I see this is done by a brown blue jumper wire to black.
I really can't figure out why I have no power to the headlight on hi or low settings.
Any help much appreciated thanks.

Hi
Can anybody show me a pic of a vin plate for a cb550 f2.
Mine has been removed by the previous owner for powder coating but I can still see the heads of the rivets where it was located behind the right hand side panel.
I have the tax book with all the info and I see plates on eBay but I want to check they have the correct information for a UK bike.
Is there any other source for these vin plates if the eBay one doesn't have the right information for a UK bike.
