CB750 / No strobe light from cylinder 1.
« on: July 30, 2018, 12:18:57 PM »
Good day,
I have been trying to get my k2 running smoothly for a while.. but after checking
Timing,
Carb sync,
Points and gap,
Colortuned
..and using..
new coils, condensers, resistors and spark plugs..
my problem is almost unresolved.
the main dilemma is, when I check the timing with a strobe light gun, i have a good result by using the clamp on plugs 2, 3 and 4. Unfortunately 1 is a no show.
Strangely I have a decent spark on that plug.
Any suggestion to stop me going crazy?

thanks

CB750 / Sparks on the points gap..
« on: June 10, 2018, 09:44:54 PM »
Good day, I remember having sorted the same problem (sparks on points gap) previously by replacing the condenser..
This time that alone hasn't worked. I have realized that the the rubber isolating part that goes to the hole indicated by the orange arrow (in the img attached) was damaged so I improvised something.
Could be it?
How do you replace that tiny part (if you can)?

Thanks

CB750 / Rattling noise when in neutral
« on: June 02, 2018, 11:37:55 AM »
Good day, i am trying to check wether or not i have a serious problem.
When the engine of my k2 is running I can hear a rattling noise (from the primary chain?) that goes away when i pull the clutch.
Its not very loud or worrying but i wouldn't like it to worsen. I've tried to adjust the cam chain (Clymer manual page 48) via the tensioner but didn't improve it.
Any other way to assess the problem?

thanks

CB750 / Gunson Colortune result
« on: May 31, 2018, 05:51:21 PM »
Good day,
I have purchased a Gunson Colortune to get the carbs right on my K2.
Cylinders 2, 3 and 4 show a nice blue spark;
the problem is with cylinder 1.
The only way to see it turning towards blue is to unscrew the air/fuel mix screw completely and that is at idle only.
Whats your opinion?

Thanks

CB750 / Weak spark on 2 and 3
« on: April 24, 2018, 08:38:47 AM »
Good morning,
I am struggling with my cb750 k2 as it starts on 1-4 cilynders only,
so far i have:
- Swapped the coils around then replaced with a new one.
- Bypassed the yellow wire to coil 2-3,
- Replaced condenser
- Checked timing and points gap.
- Replaced and regapped the spark plugs
None of these has sorted the problem.
HINT: i noticed that if i short points 1-4 to ground, engine dies, if i short 2-3 it only causes sparks but engine stays on.
Most of time i get no reading from 2-3 with strobo light.
What else should i check.

Thanks

CB750 / Shock absorbers test and refurbishment
« on: September 09, 2017, 05:18:58 PM »
Good day,
I "may be" a bit heavy and the fact that I chopped the rear off doesn't help.
I have tried adjusting within the 3 settings but still I have the feeling that something might be wrong.
is there any way to test if the rear shocks are doing what they are supposed to do.
Is there a tutorial on how to refurbish them,
Is there an alternative ( not too expensive) out there.

thanks

CB750 / re-jetting needed?
« on: June 22, 2017, 11:54:51 PM »
good day,
I have been riding my cb750 k2 for over a month and today I went back to ride my Bmw r80/7 and
i have noticed a huge difference in maximum speed and overall performance.
my cb750 is definitely slower.
i have synced the carbs but not fully understood how to set the air mixture the same for all 4.
also I have replaced the standard air filter for K&H (like) stacks and gone to a 4-2 exhaust system but kept the stock jets..
would i see any difference in changing their size.
if yes, what size?
Thanks

CB750 / Plate number
« on: May 20, 2017, 02:39:06 PM »
Good day, i have just received the V5C with my Honda plate number.
I can't wait to order the plate itself but i am not sure if i can / have to order a silver on black one or a yellow one.

On the V5C says date of 1st registration 01 05 2017.

Any idea?

CB750 / Fuel tank badges
« on: May 12, 2017, 07:31:21 PM »
Good day, i am try to identify the badges in the photo below.
They don't fit my k2 tank.
I need to sell them to buy some (David Silver) K2 ones at £23 each.

They are marked 418 on the back.

Any idea of model and selling price?
Thanks

CB750 / Front brakes sticky (dual disc)
« on: April 28, 2017, 02:46:19 PM »
Good day, i am trying to get the brakes do a good working order.
I have realised that the pads are sticking to the disc on the RHS. After playing with the bolt to distance the calliper i have realised that the IN and OUY oil pipes are not on the same order. Does this matter?
Thanks

CB750 / Battery resurrection
« on: January 17, 2017, 09:37:58 PM »
Hello, before starting to shop for a brand new battery I've read about "resurrecting" mine (barely used).
I guess my regulator messed it up.
it's a 1 year old MF sealed battery, on a the bike being ridden 3-4 times for short periods.
I have refilled the cells with battery water and let to charge for 3-4 hours;
When it reaches 13.5v it will not go any more, within 5 minutes I unplug the charger it drops down to 8v.

Shall I just dispose of it or it can be cured?

Thanks
