My BiL removed mine using one of these on my 400 it removes the bottom race without causing any damage .
Ideal if you fit a new bottom race and then need to remove it to fit a shim underneath.
I bought one for myself as it was not expensive when I was fitting a taper roller kit to my 500. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403899872756

Whilst I’m working on the forks I’m thinking ahead; optimistically, about putting the front end back together again. I’m going to stick with old school bearings following the comments. I’m assuming I need to remove the lower bearing cup/ race from the the stem on the lower triple tree as it will be worn. Looking at it there is a rubber washer (maybe 2?) beneath it and a shim beneath that. I guess these are removed by levering/bashing from beneath using a drift or cold chisel and then the new one needs a new shim and rubber washer(s). Does this sound like the right approach?

Well he is just a bloke on Ebay Ash so don`t know how good he is..........as he just asked to supply the dimensions so he could check to see if they is one to match it ..... so if you can just tell me if it is flat on both sides will due I think.

Hi, You have not said what chain pitch you have but I assume it is 530. The 4 mounting bolt holes distance apart (known as the p.c.d.) is taken from the centres of the bolt holes.
I make it 74mm centre hole as there is nothing listed with 73.7mm. The p.c.d. at 110mm with 10mm bolt holes.

Is the sprocket flat on both sides or a recessed ring on the inner face? I think it might be 280 sprocket type but I now need to check to see if this is still available.

May be simpler if I donate my used one to you to give him. Just pay postage.

Got the pistons ready for fitting ( ring gaps checked, pistons cleaned ) and noticed I had not marked them front and back.
Do the pistons have a front and back ? or does it not matter.
Anybody know ?
