Yeah 2.15 front and back would probably be best.
Thank you.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The standard rim width is too thin IMO, it's a 1.85 and when you start to increase the width of the tyre on that size rim you get a lot of tyre flex which adversely affects the handling. You can't go mad as then you have swinging arm and fork clearance problems.
The best compromise is to fit 2.15 rims, they were fitted to the 750 as standard IIRC, no clearance issues and will take a larger section tyre (within limits) with no problem. 410 on front and 425/85 on rear is the best I've found. I raced a 500 on those sizes and whilst it wasn't really competitive it handled very well indeed.
Thanks for your help.... is that 2.15 on front and back....ie 19 and 18 respectively Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi
I'm thinking of having new rims and new spokes for my brat style build. Any tips as to best sizes. Should I stay stock....or is it possible safe and sensible to beef the rim width up. I really like the fat tyre, big profile look.....but I also want to ride it
Any help appreciated

Not impossible. It's like nailing jelly to the ceiling though. It took me well over an hour. The trick is to make the aforementioned sharpened chisel - like screwdrivers dig in to the metal, prising the circlip out as far as you can, keeping it there while you dig the second one in. Once the clip is free of the groove, it's relatively simple. No, I'm not volunteering to go through that again.
Oh go on....see if you can beat your personal best time ... It's a great challenge Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Best to put it in the airing cupboard for an hour first otherwise it'll be difficult to fit. I used to have a black one on my 400 because the paintwork was in poor condition,
That's the main reason I bought this one....to hide the sins ... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
