CB500/550 / Re: Dk special
« on: January 13, 2016, 03:12:32 PM »
DK has pulled the auction on this 500 on the last day. Must have got a better offer. I have emailed them to say that "pulling an auction when there has been bids, although not against the rules, is not good form and annoys many of their customers" Lets see what the reply is.

And the front ones, won't take much to get that scraping when they stick out 3 feet.

Looks a cracking buy. But what's going on with the footrests?

Guess no replies means no engines. Thanks anyway. I knew it was a long shot.

Here's a long shot. Does anybody have, hiding in the back of the garage, a complete Triumph T100 or T120 or even a T140 engine they would be willing to sell. Cash waiting for the right engine. If that's not specific enough, preferably a 1971 T100R Daytona unit. Like I said, a long shot. ;D

Or indeed, any suggestions where I may find one. Cheers.

Usual 750 problem if leaking around the plug area. I usually seat mine in with ThreeBond (HondaBond). Glad to hear your back on the road and all is sweet.

Talking of petrol prices. Why are we still paying over a £1 a litre when Brent Crude is now trading at less than a third of the price it was.

Thieving tw**s they are worse than the Padgetts scrotes who only got away with thousands. Government and oil companies are getting away with Billions.

Really hope they find the Padgett bikes, though not holding out much hope as your average Plod struggles to find his way to work. But if the scrotes dared to ride one of the bikes, they will soon be slapped with a speeding ticket.

See now you've got me started.

Thieving scrotes. They should try working for a living instead of ruining peoples lives. Imagine how devastated you would be if it was your garage. Think I may use this as a timely reminder to up the security on the garage.

Recommended Sources for Parts and Services / Yamiya prices
« on: January 07, 2016, 08:03:19 AM »
Been looking at Yamiya prices for Alan's Cb750K4 engine. The prices look really good but do you get stung for postage and import duties. Have used some companies in the States, and after the additional charges I may as well have got them from Silvers. Its also easier to return things. What's your experiences with Yamiya. Cheers.

I get all my seals and o-rings from this place   http://maydayseals.co.uk/   They run a very good service and fast delivery. Not found an o-ring on any of the bikes that they didn't have so far.

T-bar screwdriver has arrived and it fits the standard case screws perfectly. Thanks for the nod on that one Ash, it will be very useful.

CB350/400 / Silvers pattern ignition coils
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:37:37 PM »
Got some replacement coils from DSS. Does it matter which way they are connected as the terminals have no identifying marks, and the cables (black & yellow) are separate patch cables. Cheers.
