Have you got the adjuster bolt in the frame?

And is the lever touching the bottom of the footrest? Looks very close in the pic.

I wouldn't Alex. Best to do both IMO.

No I don't think I want to get involved in that Roo. Done it before and it just ends with me chasing people over stuff.

Plus, the parts I've asked for are kinda rare so it's unlikely he'll have any of them but who knows maybe he will. We'll see, I've added some 550 parts as well, indicator stems although as the UK are different I don't expect he'll have any but when I mentioned that he said he'd found a spoke set off a S110 which never went to the USA so maybe there's a slim chance, worth asking anyhow.

Did you see any of the NOS bits, I'm wondering if there were any large bits, like seat, tanks, exhausts.

Check the fuses for the dashlights and the tail lights, should be on the same circuit so the same fuse.

Starter, put a screwdriver across the contact points on the relay under the left hand cover, if the starter spins it's either the relay or most likely the button in the switchgear.

Not that hard to make a new one if it does break though, made one for the 500 earlier this year. Tweaked how to do it now to improve how it comes out.

Got a reply from Jay, says he'll let me know when he goes to the restoration shop. He reckons he has some of my list which was a few of the rare items for a 500-4. Depends on what he wants for them as well I suppose.

If you go again try and see about some 26mm box spanners, hard to find over here. And if they have some of the toolkit screwdrivers I'd like a couple of the crosshead ones, No2 and No3. Plug spanner as well if you see one and a wallet would be handy.

Wonder what sort of NOS bits he has?

The genuine spark plug spanner is rare these days, the box spanner may be depending on what size it is.

I need a No2 screwdriver bit for my tool kit if that's going spare.

Shame that 2 of the tool trays are missing the mesh holder but still worth picking up.

Have you checked the brake drum liner for cracking?

2 x 500 and 1 x 750 points covers in decent nick, nice.

Couple of starter motor covers as well, and here's you just bought one.

Always worth picking up a 550 air box, that'll sell.

Nice pair of mudguards but the problem I can see is how do you get all that home again, it must weigh a bit.

CB500/550 / Re: Where does the last three oil seals fit?
« on: June 21, 2022, 07:26:43 PM »
Small one looks like the tacho drive seal.

other small one looks like it could be the gear lever shaft seal or possibly clutch actuating arm seal if it's a 550, what size is shown on the last one, it could be a kickstart seal.
