Well ... bit of a marathon this :)

Bike is finally being delivered to me tomorrow after Keith has had his hands on it - biggest things done apart from service inc primary chain as the fitted one wasn't quality and a new battery box fabricated and an electronic ignition which all added up to an eye watering bill  ::)

Hope it is all worth it .... Keith did say it was a good one

Thinking about improvements / mods from the original  has made me re-think  the exhuast situation. I was minded to fit the original four pipe system to keep the period look and gloss over the cost. That got me thinking about the owners who went from twin pipe  to 4 into 1 systems  as they performed & sounded  better.

Just thought I would put that out there for added public humiliation to add to the Nut Brown saga - I still have regrets about settling for boring black.

I think after all the time and work you are putting in .... the original style system would be icing on the cake :)

Simon

Seems a regular ride. If you are riding back through Darley Dale on a Saturday morning, call into our shop so I can admire that beast! Opposite the large engineering foundry. We are Fabric & Furnishings Solutions.

Will do Tim

Hopefully have chance again before the end of the year :)

Nice one Simon. Sitting here contemplating a run on the tourer. 8 Celsius here.

I think that is about the temp here .... lovely to blow away the cobwebs after a gruelling week but note to self .... layer more !!!

Result! Good news! 👍
Simon ps. Took mine for a spin today having only been out briefly since fitting Mark P’s ignition.
Seems to tickover cleaner when cold and warm, pull more eagerly and cleanly from low revs. Nice.  👍👍

Good to hear :) I put mine on after fiddling with various setup bits so wasn't sure of any perceived improvement  ::)

Ted’s spring arrived and to say there is a difference is an understatement !!!

Coin trick used again as puller never arrived and no problems - fits perfectly and stand holds up against exhaust stop rubber

You can have my  old spring f.o.c.  to fit in the meantime if it helps?

That would be great TED - I'll PM you

There's something wrong with that picture. The coils should be tight and without any gaps whatsoever. Either the spring is faulty and was supplied like that or the coins have opened the coils. I would always use a spring puller or lever it on using a long screwdriver. That way the whole spring shares the stretch rather that the coils when coins are used.

I think you are right - I've used the coin method before with no ill effects but have ordered a puller for the new one.

I can't remember how it looked when it arrived other than it not being in a sealed honda bag ....  I was more concerned skipping out to the garage to fit :)
