Went I was living round the corner from you I needed a set of tyres for a SV650, Watling tyres in Ashford were outrageously expensive

I can't seem to find anyone that does bike tyres around here except

I got them from a supplier in Andorra in the end, less half the price of Watling. Get all my tyres online now  Wanted a high speed sports tyre this year, phone my trade supplier (Who said they could beat any price) £112, ordered the same tyre via Andorra for £70 including P&P

Snap!! Probably used mine up to the late 80's though.
then earned enough to pat some other B****r to do them for me .

Just bought a couple of new levers and make the job easy...If you don't pinch the tube.. use your foot for the last bit. Done a couple this year myself and remember replacing tubes at the side of the road in the 70s.

I normally have more trouble removing the old then I do fitting the new.

I bought a rear tyre last week to hold as a spare from The Visor Shop. Good price and here two days after the order was made, so good service. There was no charge for carriage, either.

I have also bought a tyre recently for the CB500 from a local bike shop (Swaffham Motorcycles). It was ordered in, arrived two days later and still cheaper than most of the tyre specialists that I see advertise TT100's.

I fitted a pair of Continental twins to my CB750 wheels at the weekend, I was worried I was doing it wrong as it seemed too easy! Actually I did start to put one on the wrong way round but soon realised.

When I used to do my own and had terrible battles there was no one to show me what I have since learned from watching professionals do it on YouTube, which is the importance of getting the bead of the side you are not working with into the well in the centre of the rim. I just used to leave it where it was and have a great stretching match, with added swear words.

I did pop into the garage yesterday, to check they had stayed up, as I have pinched a few inner tubes in my time.

Tyres are easy to change with the right equipment. I do them all the time on my sport bikes as well as my enduro race bike, so long as I have the right tools to hand & lots of tyre soap. They're also easy to balance when using my rig. The equipment has paid for itself after only a few tyre changes.

BTW. Maxxis & CST  (Chen Shin Tyres) are the same. I had a CS tyre on the front of my first bike, a CB125s & it was lethal in the wet & only marginally better in the dry, hence my change to Avons very shortly after I first started riding it back in '75.
