1972 cb175 part ident help
« on: December 04, 2017, 03:54:08 PM »
Hi All
Assembling 1972 CB175 gear box , gear change drum and came across the ring in the photos
lying on the bench.
i'm assuming it has come from the 175 as i can't think where else it has come from .
I can't find it in my parts book and Trigger has had a look in his micro thingies .
It's .9mm thick and has a small tag to stop it revolving i would think .
Any ideas welcome before i carry on and leave it out .
Cheers Rich

I've got something like that on the 250RS but it has two tangs on it. Its a thrust washer and sits next to a needle roller bearing. One tang sits either side of the 'ears' of the circlip and this is what stops it spinning. Might be similar on the 175?

I did say it was a bearing retainer ;D ;D

Just remembered Rich ...  when do you need the 175 down-pipes? How did the silencers work out?
