I took the 175 out today up and down a few hills local to me all visible to me from home.

The old girl is starting to breathe a bit heavy now plenty of blue smoke out of the left pipe and oil dripping from the engine breather but only when ridden hard.

Nice looking 175. You don't need lots of cubes these days to achieve big smiles per mile. I'm having as much fun running in the 250RS at up to 5.5 thousand revs as I do on the VFR  .

Nice 175! I went to the Manx as pitcrew for a Rotax 250 in 1993, we had one of these, same colour, as a runabout.

I went on the back over the Mountain with our rider, Mad Pete Smethurst RIP,  two up. I swear he never shut the throttle once, Ramsey Hairpin to the Bungalow, where we stopped, and a surprised German on a BMW which we had just passed around the Veranda    came up to tell us our back tyre was flat!

'Only at the bottom!' said Pete, which confused him somewhat.

That 175 certainly brings back some memories, I sold my new CB750K2 in 1972 to get the deposit for our new house and bought one that looked exactly like that one to get around on.
I thoroughly enjoyed razzing around on it, even when the cam chain snapped and I had to carry the motor up three flights of stairs to the flat we were living in at the time while waiting for the house sale to go through..

Went to N Ireland to the NW200. Fantastic weather, scenery and obviously bike action something else..

However my lasting memory will be the local people. So friendly, knowledgeable and so so funny! Great craic!

Out and about at the annual Spilsby Bike Night. Excellent turnout, lots of classic Triumphs, BSA's, Nortons etc. A lovely Z900, plenty of FS1E's, RD/ LC's etc and some Honda SOHC's, including 4 CB400/4's including Hettie, who I didn't photograph tonight  100's of modern bikes too.
