DAVID SILVERS CB750 SHOW ON SATURDAY

[Nurse Julie]

Thanks Julie.
After doing 190 miles today and 400-500 miles in the last week I can attest it runs/rides lovely too!

That's good, it's lovely when a bike rides and runs well, it increases the enjoyment somewhat.

I heard that over here Julie

So do you known the owner now Ash?

[Nurse Julie]

That has almost bought me to tears and I don't get over emotional about other peoples bikes but, that is awful.

No but I had a brief talk to him, showed him the pair of original carbs I had off off it (after showing them to Vic World ) but the new owner of the bike didn't seem interested so I gave them away to someone who was  No use to me  really. Shame....but there ya go. Vic World a lovely bloke very approachable and informative.

[Green1]

Is the frame rotten? the rear wheel seems to be on the floor.

Congrats our member Mick  here Kettle738   Won Prize for earliest genuine UK bike.

Dave Silver sold a shed load of his used bike by all accounts including the blue CL450

[Nurse Julie]

I'm pleased your carbs have found a good home Ash, that's nice. Whoever the 'restorer' was on that bike needs hanging up by the balls. The new owners choice  I know but it looked better when it went to auction. There are alot better restorers on this forum. I am gob smacked.

The UK Press bike YLY 70H was there ...never sold at Bonhams a couple of years back so guy still has it.
Talked to him for ages ...said he had a real battle getting it back from Bonhams. They said he had given the 'nod' to sell at the auction at Stafford  but he never did,  so a struggle ensued.

I can't believe a person with so much money to buy Brighton bike would dress it up with modern day replacement parts

That is a real shame, I wish it had never turned up. We could still dream it was out there somewhere.
I hear he's thinking of also tackling Stonehenge!
