Just saw this model kit on eBay, never heard of a 950ss, I’ve heard of bored out endurance racers, did someone produce these for the road? [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

One of the principle Honda dealers/Concessions in France since 1966.
They made alot of specials based on CB750 and competed in endurance racing with various specs.
Think the proprietor appears in the photos on the pre-production 750 launch in Paris. Can't remember his name though.

I think Classic Bike magazine done an article on Japauto a few years ago - seem to remember the article mentioning the 960.

Wow, what a fine looking motorbike. How much would that be worth if it is still around and came up for sale?

The cylinders on these bikes seem to have a interesting link.
I "think" they are made by a company called JPX of France that run aluminium and magnesium casting foundry that's very connected with interesting engines.
https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/honda-rc174-rc-reborn
shows their involvement with this particular project, and their scope.
Points cover, alt cover disc and clutch etc are produced to dress the engine.
