Just got back from Cambridge since it was nice out I went the long way home.
As I rolled to a stop at a roundabout in Braintree just after the college I shot forward with out warning. Luckily I stayed on it, I sat in the middle of the roundabout woundering what happen.
I had come to the conclusion that I must have knoked it into gear before I had fully  released the clutch lever. When putting the bike in the garage I noticed my reflector below the number plate was bent and numberplate was busted. On closer inspection the plastic mudguard has been stressed were it was pushed into the rear tyre and theres a cut in the tyre.

Luckily I was on the Guzzi as its a big old lump. I think if it was one of my Hondas they would have been totaled

Because there were no cars about I assumed I must have cocked up.
When I got home and relised what had happend I just felt like a burk for not registering what had happend at the time.

At least no injuries - the bike can be fixed Mick! Re-affirms my opinion of people though

Just been checking the bike over it all seems OK. Apart from the throttle cabe now seems to have streched. I must have pulled hard on it in the shunt.

Thank god the coil packed up on the 550 otherwise I would have been on that.

Glad you're ok. The worrying thing is the car driver (I presume car) could report you for leaving the scene of an accident :o

Very unlikely. I only mention it as a mate had it happen when the driver thought they could push blame onto him, in a way to get their damage paid for. He got fined and points.

Blame has nothing to do with leaving the scene.

I should think it will be ok. There was no one there when I left. So they left before me.
How would they prove it? My bike is fine

My dad was just ahead of me and he had an Audi R8 scream past him yet there wasn't one between us before hand.

Hey Mick,

Glad no harm done to yourself; I can imagine sitting quietly one mo... and then a confused ‘wtf?’ thinking the next ... giving the car a few moments to escape.

What kind of a*sehole car driver would think it’s ok to drive away - sheesh.

On the plus side you’ve enlightened me (finally) what a MotoGuzzi is good for 😂

I had the same 2 years ago on my Vmax. driver leapt out and accused me of damaging her car. Claimed I rolled back ! My insurance paid me out to fix the bike then she took ME to court claiming £2250 damager to her 4 x 4 inc new radiator and bumper. She had provided a dodgy repair invoice. Her insurers initially offered 50/50 to settle I declined. She thought I wouldn`t go to court but I did. She was a no show so it went in my favour and her insurance had to re-imburse mine. Even the judge and her brief couldn`t believe it. All I will say is that she was of Nigerian appearance.

Turns out it happens more then you think.  :o

Friday I stayed behind at the college to take advantage of the clear workshop to straighten out a few bits.
I was talking to one of the Bursars and the same thing happened to one of his mates recently.

I don't know if I will commute on the bike next week it turns out my lower back and rear end really hurt now.

Almost forgot after all that on the way home a stupid woman pulled out on me because she was looking down at her phone  >:(
I stopped within inches of hitting it.
