Bastards

Talk about abusing the market. When will they get referred to the monopolies commission?

Crikey! That's a 100% to 200% increase on average. Like Ryan Air and other 'rack 'em up, stack 'em up' enterprises they just end up taking the piss.

They are so greedy, but there are no real alternatives to reach such a huge amount of buyers or sellers,  they have hold of us by the boll---ks, and if any people start similar selling formats ebay just buy them up, i read somewhere that ebay own quite a few of the other sites that were trying to rival them, surely thats wrong just buying the opposition out so you have the monoply.

+1 on that Pete they bought up Yahoo auctions years ago, which I thought was really good and prices were realistic.

A bit of a piss taking price hike in places but the buyer protection is getting better, The paypal fee's are the real ouch for sellers though. I'm not 100% on this but I think they are still cheaper than conventional auctions As I'd expect - they do have less overheads
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

If you sell at Bonhams, you pay 20% seller fees.

I suppose you could argue that Bonham's has a pretty wide client base, or whatever you call it, plus some snazzy talking auctioneer to try and sell the item. Oh yea a catalogue is issued with your piece on it. What else erm..........clean toilets??
I s'ppose all that can justify 20%.
What gets me is that we, the Joe Blogg's of this world have the power to knock seven shades of shyte out of any mega corporation. I remember about 7 years ago, I think it was Shell (or Esso?) was getting a bit cocky with their petrol prices, so someone put out an e-mail urging everyone to forego 1 visit to either of these reteilers per week. The prices came down soon after, not by much but still by a token amount.
Why doesnt't every body just boycott Ebay for a month? Then we'll see them get the heebie-jeebie's.

Talking about monopoly, the guvingmunt said they had to borrow even more money recently as their expected income from petrol & diesel sales dropped dramatically during the bad weather.

And don't get me started on the 'Passport Office'. They put the price of a new passport up...because fewer people were travelling abroad & not requiring new ones.
