I'm in need of the now discontinued part 22815-283-000 spring. I've Googled and no joy. Has anyone got one I could buy? If not, is there a known alternative or workaround?

Havent got a spare but its not a particularly strong spring so you can probably adapt something to fit

Almost certainly got one of those, saw one last week or so hiding in a box.

I'll see if I can dig it out. It's the one which goes onto the clutch worm drive in the left hand casing isn't it?

Found one. Not in the greatest condition, a little rusty but still fine.
