Further to my last post on stripped helicoils. I now don't think it is the case.
In the attached picture the "material " on the left is what was attached to bolt thread when I removed it next to it is a new m6 helicoil for comparison.
1) the piece on left is not magnetis, ie not metal like a helicoil
2) Appears finer material than a helicoil.
3) If I offer up the bolt to the hole it still screws in 🤔 although not torqued up as not on the engine.
Any ideas and no I didn't over tighten it when I put it in.
Is it possible to pull out the thread from alloy or something else going wrong 🤔

Yes, that is the original thread. Another part that strips that gives the same result is the carb float bowl screw holes where they screw into the main body of the carb, they often come out in 1 whole coil. It's just old, fragile alloy.

Yup, you can helicoil that, just make sure you get one long enough
