My first big bicycle had airless tyres, but they were blocks of rubber rather than the level of tech. It's an interesting article, not something I was aware of, and would certainly save on flat tyre hassles as well as space in the car.

Taking a long time to come to the market. I recall reading about those tyres as prototypes, some time in the early 2000's. Think it was in New Scientist.

Yes seen this type of tyre some time ago - look as odd as the Cyclotron spokeless bicycle wheel that is a rim type drive.
