Carburettor overhaul company
« on: July 04, 2022, 10:00:55 AM »
Good Morning All

Mutely is not well !  I have a set of Honda CB 550 K3 KEIHIN 6273 carbs N03 crab has started to weep and doesn't seem to want to stop even after a good run down the road ( checking behind me 1st  ;D ) This might be a good time to have the carbs sonically cleaned and etc and reassembled can anyone recommend a company that could do this as I am not confident enough to do this on my own I live up in NE Yorkshire area so if a company is up this way great.

Thank all for taking the time to read this any help and advice would be most appreciated.

Best Regards

Gromitddog. & Mutely the bike

550K3 should have PD carbs not the ones you have which are for an F. 500 carbs are same except jets.
I only know of one person doing carbs and they are in Holland and cost over £300 now due to the B word

Yes, Matt is still doing carbs and does some Honda SOHC/4 ones, as he buys the Viton O ring kits from me. I've never used him myself though for carb overhauls.

I don’t believe that’s a recommendation to use PD carbs.

PD carbs are definitely a challenge. Reluctant to deliver enough fuel to start the bike from cold and tight fisted with fuel around mid-range. Apart from that there fine. 😂😂
