Has anyone used these coils?

<< < (3/13) > >>

Oddjob:
So DS are buying stuff which they don't know the specs for or even if they are suitable for the purpose intended. I think they're just to lazy to look up the specs myself, I'd like to say nobodies that stupid but we all know it happens.

beardylondon:
I fired back and said I’m surprised, DS said they have been selling these for 10 years!

Laverdaroo:
I'd get them somewhere else if I was you. If they have no spec how do you know?

Plenty of other places.......

Laverda Dave:
I used a pair with the brand name DI for my 400/4. Although they were as sold as within spec I checked them anyway and they were fine. The downside was they were 10mm shorter than the original so I had to make up a suitable bracket to fit them. They worked fine. Unfortunately I cannot remember the supplier.

beardylondon:
I’ve been a bit busy and not got around to replacing the coils yet.

I think I’m going to go for these eBay ones.

Excuse my ignorance, but I presume it is relevantly easy to for new spark plug caps on the ends?

They are Primary  5.11 Ohms - S 17.55 Ohms  made by Hedler the spec is on Hedlers website p/n 540612H
I did mot use the screws shown in the picture mounted them in the original saddle at each end.
I switched the wiring so the poitive marked terminal was on the ignition feed side.
At £29.95 each did not break the bank.(inc post)
Just made a chain link type bracket for the bottom mount as they are 90mm not 100mm centres. Might need more work if you wanted to fit them facing backwards.

I think DS would tell you the brand if you asked them.
