CB550K3 Tribute Project Complete
«

After nearly 2 years, and a lot of cash, I have finally finished recreating my mates old CB550K3.
This project was completed as a tribute to a friend who sadly passed away 2 years ago. He managed to totally wreck his bike over 20 years ago but, for some reason, kept the remains in a shed where it was discovered after his passing.
His original bike was a category B write off so I have had to source a new frame and crank case, thus changing the frame and engine numbers - hence calling it a tribute rather than a rebuild or restoration.
I think he would be rather pleased with the final outcome.
During the course of this project I did reach out for help and advice and am thankful to people like BryanJ, Oddjob and Nurse Julie for their time and expertise (I hope I have remembered their names properly) as well as many others. The people on this forum are nothing short of amazing.

I'm always kinda sparing with praise but considering what you started with that's a very good job. Well done, feel proud and know you've done your mate proud as well. I'm glad I could help with such a worthwhile tribute.

I'm not a purist & know little about the 550 but to me that looks magnificent.

This is a neat 500 restoration in the USA.

Nice, it is always satisfying when you start with a mess and end up with a bike like that

That’s an absolute stunner, what a great thing to do and a fantastic end result. You must be really proud of that, I would be.
Well done
