It should be zinc plated but it had lightly corroded through in places.  I was going to paint it after a lot of rubbing down but changed my mind and had it powder coated . Should be more durable.

Thanks I’m pleased with the end result but I’ve finished it too late to get much riding in before the weather turns. If I can get it run in ready for spring I’ll be happy. It runs fine but you have to keep it buzzing - there’s not a lot low down!  Hopefully it will be better when it’s run in and I can rev it higher.

The bike is lovely. I really like that.

You have to rev the 400 to get any power so the 350 will be similar.

I have certainly noticed how much better my 400 pulls after a total of a tad over 400 miles since rebuild - so just starting to nudge the revs up.
I'm amazed how much lighter/easier  the 400 feels to ride than my 500, I'm not parting with the 400 either, I just love both of mine with their different characteristics.

Your 350 is very easy on the eye, as other have said its a credit to you, feel free to pat yourself on the back with a job well done.

When I rode my 400 the 260+ miles to and from the DSS event last week it felt like riding a moped! It felt so small compared to the VFR and RE650 with the tank being really thin my knees didn't touch it! I had to learn to rev it again and take it beyond 6000+ to make progress.
When I took the RE out on Tuesday it felt like a tank in comparison

Thats exactly my impression after the VFR and Bandit, it takes a bit of getting used to. I wouldn't like to go on a long trip on it but I think it will be great for shorter runs in the countryside.
