Ignition coils

Bought two brand new ignition coils and now one lead is playing up. Used a test plug and all ok bar the one.Lead checked for damage and caps changed. How can one side of the coil work but not the other?

Hopefully you can get it replaced if new from purchaser?

Presumably you have shortened the leads a tad have you screwed the caps in all the way?
Might be worth cutting the end off by 1/4" and re- checking for spark.
If you have a strobe light might be worth checking how far up the lead you have a detected HT impulse.
