Perhaps a different situation, however an acquaintance of mine had a pacemaker fitted four or five years ago and, after a recuperation period, not only kept his car and motorcycles licences but was also able to continue driving private hire (taxi) vehicles and a minibus for a local charity.

Thanks for that flatfour, the Consultant I spoke to recently did say my Driving Licence would not be affected, I was under a duty to inform my insurers of course.

This is a neat 500 restoration in the USA.

Mate of mine whilst working for Asda was delivering to Penny Lane, Asda, yes that Penny Lane. He had a heart attack and died, luckily for him the staff had only just completed some defibulator training and had a brand new machine on the premises. He died 3 times whilst at the store and the staff brought him back each time. Went into hospital, had a stent fitted and eventually had a pacemaker fitted. Only 8% of his left ventricle was working. He lost every license he had, HGV, PSV, car and bike. Eventually they returned his car one back but that was all. Admittedly his was an extreme case and I suppose each case is decided on it's merits, just don't go in there blind to the possible consequences is all I'm saying.

Penny Lane. My father in law had a fish and chip shop in Penny lane back in the late 50s and 60s. He once clipped the ear of a cheeky young pup by the name of Lennon. They didn’t have a defibrillator machine.

I could tell you a little about the development of rhythm detection algorithms using Fourier series….but won’t.

Managed a couple of half hour stints at restoring some shine on the left side engine casing.
Still needs a lot more work but it's a start, I'm using a pair of  light blue 400 plastic disc wheels to start with.
