Tank / side panel badges fixings

Does everyone rely on the standard clips to hold them on or add something like double sided tape etc?

I’ve lost one 550 four badge that was held on with just the clips.

Whatever you use avoid the likes of Blue Tack, I've seen how the acid or oil that slowly seeps out over time can stain things.

I was thinking of the 3M tape that you use to mount dash cam brackets on windscreens.

Tiny drill bit then some lock wire or fishing wire to join the mounting pins?
