Brake lines
« on: July 01, 2025, 12:29:17 AM »
My brake lines are now seven years old. They feel ok, but I can't remember what they felt like new. There's no cracks or leaks but is it time to change them already, and is there something better than the originals to use?

If they aint cracked and not bulging under pressure they are safe to use, you can fit the braided nylon and even make them yourself with pipe and fittings from ebay

A suggestion - hold the brake line at its midpoint between thumb/forefinger and very firmly apply the brake.  If you feel ANY expansion in the brake hose, replace them with firmer lines.  I used HEL lines https://www.helperformance.com/home when I did extensive work on my brakes a couple of years ago.

If you do decide to replace the lines George you can get black sheathed braided stainless lines so they will look semi-original(ish).
