Surprise
« on: October 01, 2025, 09:27:35 AM »
I was walking the dog the other day and spotted 3 people clustered around a newish looking bike, it was some kind of small capacity Yamaha.
They were having problems getting it started, after further inquiries the bike was being sold by its woman owner to a young girl whose boyfriend had given her a lift.
The bike had not been used for a while so the battery was flat so it would not fire up on the starter, this completely baffled them, it would not start using the kickstart they said but they also said that they had never used a kickstarter.
So I asked them about bump starting it, blank looks appeared.
The woman owner was kicking it over furiously to no effect, I did notice thet she had the throttle fully closed when asked about it she said she did not want to flood it.
So I handed the dog over to the lady owner, sat on the bike and gave it a try myself, 2 kicks and away it went so I took it down the street and back.
The young girl who had bought the bike then took over, she was fully kitted out in leathers and proper gear, but as she took off she nearly stalled it and wound the throttle open which then saw her weelying down the street.
I hope she got home safely, she had about 20 miles to get used to her new steed.
Back to dog walking with a slight shake of my head.

😂😂.
Did you not offer to ride it home for her with the dog as a pillion 🐶. The young girl could follow in bf's car whilst the lady owner counted a huge wad of cash from the sale.
SPQR as a certain Mr Cole would call it.

Thats quite amusing Spitfire  :)

It was probably the the Dog engagement of the kick-start that made the difference  ;D
