VERY Tired CB 550

Good luck with it Grewth.  What's the plan?  Spares or repair?

I've got a 550F2 frame here which is rot free but unfortunately got powder coated white for some perverse reason.
If I can resurrect that seized engine, I'll have the basis of a viable project, although to build it up into a standard bike might be prohibitively expensive, with a pattern seat from DSS priced at £300.
So CB550 Cafe Racer maybe  ?

I still have a few bits left from my stash, odds and sods but a pair of yokes, actually two, might even have a swinging arm, not sure. All free if you ever get down Woking way.

Thanks for the offer,  but Woking is a long way from me.
Last time I was there, I bought a XS850, a bike that never lived up to expectations.
Hopefully,  I'll find an abandoned project or pile of leftover bits much closer to home.
Buying stuff at breakers prices is obviously not viable, you'd soon end up spending more than a complete running bike would cost.
Now if only I could find someone with a big stash of 550F seats,exhausts, and mudguards in their loft !

I'm sorry to say that I'm tied up with a whole truckload of CB750  stuff at the moment.
The 550 motor is sulking in a corner with a mixture of acetone and ATF in its bores.
I don't think that it's going to free up somehow, but no harm trying.
I'll probably pull it apart in the winter.
Meanwhile,  the summer is slipping away from me and I've got two CB750's that both run, but I ain't got brakes or electrics sorted.
