CB550F Seats
« on: January 13, 2026, 01:00:31 PM »
Pattern copies available from DSS for an eye watering £309 including UK delivery.
By comparison,  DSS sell a metal base CB750K6 seat which will land on your doorstep for just £116.
I really can't see any justification for such an extortionate price for something which is just a sandwich of GRP, foam rubber,  and PVC.
So I'm just wondering if there's an alternative source available in Europe anywhere ?
I actually found a dealer in the USA who would ship the same seat for £206, but then with customs duties etc it's probably not worth the extra hassle.

I know a member who has a genuine Honda CB550F2 seat with a decent base. The cover is split but that's an easy fix. I'm not sure if he'd be willing to sell or the price he'd want but genuine 550F seats are hens teeth and even rarer with a good base. Pattern seats are well known to have fitment problems BTW.

I can ask him if you are interested.

Worth asking please  !
BTW, I had a pattern seat on my last CB550F1, which I sold for a pittance back in 1999.
Never had any problems with it,  but it never did look 100% authentic to my eyes.

IIRC his still has the tool cover fitted, very rare to find that these days.
