Fuel pipe

I bought some fuel pipe on fleaBay 18 months ago and it’s cracked..

I contacted the seller and they said the one I bought wasn’t guaranteed 
and sent me a link to this one, but it £27 per metre!!!

Does anyone have any better leads of better value pipe?

I can't offer an answer and it is a quest I am currently on.  I keep buying different petrol pipes and all seem to have the same problem. 

I have got some cloth covered tubing which is better in that it keeps the UV off the rubber but it still splits where it joins my fuel filters as that bit is exposed. 

I was wondering about switching to the clear plastic pipe that has a fabric mesh running through although this doesn't look as good as the black rubber type.

Let's hope some combined knowledge might bring about a solution.

I still have most of a meter of genuine honda imported from japan, its £10 per meter PLUS p&p

I got hold of some reinforced fuel pipe is 5.4mm ID, and it wont fit on the fuel tap.

The measurements for the fuel tap are 6.95mm on raised bits and 6mm on non raised bit.

So the question is, do I have the wrong fuel tap?

Also you can see in the background of this photo, from the fuel tap to the carbs there was a small piece of fuel pipe connecting to joiner pieces, which I presume has been retro fitted because the previous fuel pipes at fuel tap end were damaged.  I presume it is better to have one continuous fuel pipe? This must have been done because replacing the the length of pipe is a pain.

Shouldnt be joiners and Honda never used that style of hose clip.

Is the fuel tap size correct do you think?

The genuine Honda stuff you have is spot on, and bends correctly?

The last time I bought some black fuel line, I got it from a large Briggs and Stratton dealership. It was quite a few years ago, but they did have a range of diameters, and it was good stuff.  You have to rewind your brain though, as it's American, it's sold by the foot!!

The clear plastic reinforced tube tends to go as hard as rock in no time and as you say doesn’t look good.
I got fuel tube from planet silicone, which was recommended by Nurse Julie and a few others,  they have a lot of sizes and it is nice flexible tube, I can’t comment on haw long it will last though as I have only had it for a year.
 
I can’t imagine anything will last as long as the original Honda hoses that were put on when the bikes were made. Maybe the Honda hose that Bryanj got has the best chance.

If you have a bit of a disparity of fitting sizes, try using the smaller of the sizes and putting the tube in hot water to get it flexible and see if you can get it on the larger spigots, some silicone grease might help.

Mind you, whenever I use silicone grease I end up with it all over my fingers and then can’t grip anything🙄
