  the bike is now mobile,

  refurbed the rear brake,greased pivots etc,re assembled and refitted
lifelong motorcycle rider,and fan

Just had my registration returned,

Said I hadn't established the age sufficiently

I included specific details, explaining it was a  stop gap model, only made in 1972,

But not enough,

I am sourcing a dating certificate from the Aircooled RD  forum

Have you tried the VJMC John. They do a dating service if you are a member.

Will they accept the manufacturers date plate Bryan. Gonna get round to doing the VT1100c soon.  It’s a 1985 so just over the 40 year mark.

Not when i tried it Ken but if it has a V5c they should take the date from that but its a wierd formula something like from the April AFTER its 40 before January 1st, not 100% sure on specifics

Well it qualifies under INF34 as it's a motorcycle. I'll have to look on the import form to see if the first registered date is shown.
