good knowledge of triumphs here...and thanks for the links for parts,  the base nuts don't look too good will definitely be checking out those tools and nuts mentioned,  lookin forward to the rebuild[ I'll will check the compression first,  wonder if it will start it kicks over nice,  would you just estimate the torque on those base nuts or can you get a torque wrench in there?

Just found this socket set I was given years ago from a friend, was ungrateful at the time! glad I keep all tools, And a few spanner’s with a big W, whitworth? a run to Sunday market for a rummage might be a good idea.

Any autojumble should have some old imperial spanners up for grabs. One coming up in Forfar, regular ones in Bridge of Earn if you're near enough.

If it says BSF grab it as well, usually they are double marked with Whitworth and BSF sizes

Sorry for delay reposting, after refusal and requests for documentation, and dating from the triumph owners club, interesting the connection to A. Brunnschweiler & co Ltd Nigeria, now registered with age related number, relief!
Amazed at the underside of the rear mudguard, the original paint still intact, the upper side very worn and sun damaged solid good condition, never been off, bike is very oily mess though and the wiring is a right state, strange it has a 12v positive earth with battery,  have new wiring harness , the headlamp wiring is totally butchered,  and missing the zener diode at front,  complete disassembly now.

My T100 was positive earth originally, but had been converted to neg earth when I  bought it, with modern reg/rectifier and electronic ignition so no need for zener diode.

Yes will replace with a reg/rectifer, but think Ill retain the positive earth so i can follow the wiring diagrams, I can follow the red earths that way, this spring thingy looks like the rectifier I believe, not sure what this Lucas box at base of stearing head does.

Sombody told me zener diodes cant be got any more.
Is alternator 2 wire or 3 wire?

two wire, think this is it. I would have liked a replacement zener diode they look good under the headlamp, but the combined reg/rectifiers are reasonably priced, think it’s a straight forward upgrade.

2 wire were always 12v, 3 wire was 6 but could run 12.
Whatever you fit to regulate voltage needs a good cool airflow and a substantial earth path

You may find that a modern combined reg/rectifier has to be neg earth.

not a nice surprise hidden under the front engine plate, a good tig welder required!  bores look good a little glazed seem to show good numbers with the oversize pistons and no up /down play in the conrods, valves do wobble a fair bit in the guides the Honda's were much tighter than this in spec, maybe down to tolerances in these old engines, not sure.

Valves shouldnt wobble that much more than Honda, there are both bronze and cast iron guides available and the books are VERY confusing about the use.
There are two different lengths and the books say bronze have long guides in one possition whilst cast are opposite BUT thats NOT what it means, it should read if bronze was ORIGINALLY used the guides fit one way whilst if CAST IRON was originally used they fit the other way.
The difference is the length of guide, 2 short 2 long and if you get them wrong one valve wont shut, yes i got the tee shirt for that one thanks to the wording in the original Triumph workshop manual

Thanks for that info again , yes looks like bronze guides in this head see two short two long, valve stems way under spec feel a lot of play in the guides, strange first bronze guide I’ve checked seems good at its limit though, I would have thought they’d be as worn as the stems, was thinking I’d need new valves and guides but if these are still in spec, or false economy
Also can I reuse this copper head gasket?
