Which airbox do I have?

Hi all, and thanks for looking at my post.

My bike is abit of a bitser between a cb550f and cb550K and I need to know which air filter to order as I think there is a difference? Thanks guys.

Not sure tbh if there is a difference between the f and k boxes, not the plenum chamber but those you’ve pictured. Looks like that’s a 550f to me and has all the parts, unusually.

Correction, should have 2 tall wingnut type nuts holding the snorkel 🤿 n the top. Not pictured but you may already have them.

I just heard that there is a difference between the filters. And that the F airbox works better with the 069A carbs?

The filter difference is between the 500 and 550 and not just the modle

The 550 recirculates crank case gases to the middle of the air filter, for some reason the filters clog with oily residue

F and K are very different for the 77/78 K

Definitely an F type filter. Normally the filter plate and sponge filter rots away at the base of the filter casing. You’re in luck if yours are ok. I have the filter sponges if you need one and I may even have a decent plate too. The drain tubes are unobtainable, though you may have one.
