Motorcycle "hangout" near Bath/Bristol?
« on: April 27, 2026, 07:00:05 AM »
I didn't want to further hijack a thread so asking this separately...

Re the Box Hill posts, is there anyplace with a similar (smaller, I assume) appeal for bikes near Bath/Bristol?  Box Hill is further than we like for a day ride (ride out, eat lunch/look around/ride back).

Theres Loomies https://www.loomiescafe.co.uk/home that is much closer.

Boxhill has reputation that may give impression that it's larger than it is in reality. Certainly long history etc, but not as large as many other bike meets. Loonies seems larger to me.

Near to Box is Newlands corner , not bike central but many in area go through there too. Small cafe etc and great outlook (Eric Clapton's favourite view, allegedly) over north downs landscape.

Midweek, there's Alton bike night in the station carpark on Wednesday from 17:00 hrs.

There's a  couple that appear in Henry Cole programming over Oxfordshire and possibly Gloucestershire?  region too, I can't find the names.

The Ace Cafè an obvious one, if you did fancy that longer trip out, a loop of Ace, Box, Newland, Loomies would make a bike centric day out.

My brother in law attends this meeting in Weston-Super-Mare. Not a million miles away from Bristol.

If you fancy a trip north,

Bauhous near Abergavenny, or even the Ocean bus station cafe in Abergavenny

Or Gloucestershire on Wednesday evenings

Check the schedule
