Then the bulb is not in the circuit, it would only blow the fuse if there was no load on it. Check the headlight wiring.
Kids in a the back seat cause accidents.

Does this have the idiot lights on a panel between clocks or handle bar clamp, if handlebar clamp the rubber cover round a bulb holder could be perished

I checked the wiring; all seemed ok. Then I checked the bulb and bulb holder. The bulb was loose in the holder, enough to wiggle around and not be a snug fit, so I adjusted the holder, retested, and all is now fine.

You guys are great, thank you.

Now have to figure out why the rear light and parking light don't come on! Brake light works fine.

Try them by selecting park on the ignition switch. If that works it’s most likely a poor connection in the ignition switch. You can dismantle them and clean them but it needs care.

It's the switch, it looks like someone has had it apart in the past and cobbled it together, so I suspect dirty contacts. I don't know whether to buy an aftermarket replacement and hope the bottom bit with the contacts is transplantable from one to the other, otherwise it means a new key.
