Thanks for your info nice site.As with the head gasket looks like I will have one for spares and also a base gkt which is a bit more money,cant work that one out but what the hell good deals are far and few between these days.

Head gasket arrived today tiny distortion but will be OK.Laid it on a flat surface with big weight on top.Like I said will be OK to use.
Really good stuff for the price.Have you got yours yet?

No, it never moved on the tracking system so I contacted them.  They weren't certain what happened but it disappeared off the system so they shipped another on the 1st May.  Its on the tracking system and it looks like its left the USA.  It should be here soon - I hope!

Showing my age I know, but I have always preferred copper head gaskets. Maybe out of the question now with the price of copper as it is but was just idly wondering if anyone has tried making one? or is there a reason for not doing so?

Appreciate you may still need sealing rings for the oil ways but copper can be used more than once after annealing etc and I have always hated fibre ones and thought they were a cost saving item.

I remember my old four valve Trudge blah blah blah ...........

I think Honda would have used copper if it had offered any advantage over the composite gaskets, after all, stamping a gasket from a sheet of copper would be far easier (and cheaper) than making the composite ones, so Honda obviously had good reason for going down the composite route

Showing my age as well then coz I made one for my old Yam 1.1 a couple of years ago   I was at the Wray bike meet with it last night.
 

(sorry I keep prattling on about Yamahahas on a Honda forum )

I spotted through the barrels to get hole positions and put the old head gasket on to draw round, then bolted it to some softish plastic for support and hacksawed and filed to shape. For the bore holes I fitted the gasket to the barrels and filed the copper exactly the right size, which is miles better than a bought gasket coz they're made "one size fits all". I used 0.9mm copper whereas the old gasket was 1.2mm thick, so slightly better compression.

BITSA, My "cylinder head gasket" turned up today.  This is what I got!!  Now in touch with them to sort it out.  According to the listing there are no more left.
