resin in tank falling apart

<< < (8/9) > >>

Waggles:
I remember my old 4 valve Trudge, one bang every lampost at 70mph blah blah!

Think we are just attracted to what was cool in our yoof! I had a yellow F1 then, and have a yellow F1 now! even smells like it did back in the day ( the bike that is ) No doubt modern bikes are 'better' but no centre stand or kick start, tubeless tyres ( safer but I cant fix punctures ) electronic everything that I can't touch etc these things put me off a bit but I would have one if I couldn't have my F1.

I can scare myself more than enough on the F1 so why would I get a Hayabusa?  :-\

Remember that chain grease and the fug it produced in the kitchen  ;D Also remember that no matter how much you cleaned the chain first you could always hear the grit in the bottom of the can as you moved the chain around  ;D  and boy was the chain hot!

+1 on the 'No tank lining goo'

Lobo:
Gotta admit... that chain grease was my equivalent of glue sniffing.... with the added benefit that my 400F had the most lubed drive in the county...

No benefit of my mum's cooker... just a primus camping stove smoking out the garage. Indeedy happy memories.

tom400f:
Er, I lubed my 400F chain with one of those heated tins in the summer.... and yes I spilt it on the drive. Trouble is it's difficult to get up as it solidifies pretty soon and you areleft with a solid slick.

Resorted to blowtorching it and adding some white spirit to burn it off. Then use washing up liquid. The weather does the rest. Just a tip for you all....

Oh yes - and Simon let me have ago on his Griso. It is 1200 cc of Italian craziness and loveliness  :-*

Lobo:
Anytime Tom, .... the CB400F now fully legal, but not yet ridden. Aaargh. Need to come home & take 'her' out.
All in all, a serious thread drift if I ever saw one! Apologies Billy...

billy192:
this is what i have taken out manually. its an inch thick on the base. its a cross between paint and silicone in consistency.

most out now
Billy
