Has the arse fallen out of the Jap Classic Market?

I don't understand why this has had no bids on it. Phoned up on it today as a Trade buyer and he said he hasn't had much interest on this. WHY?

On his other listing he has some very nice cars that took me back to my youth.

I didn't think it was much of a bargin, if it had started with no reserve I think there would have been a lot of intrest.

When I think of the more modern bikes I can get for 2k it's a no-brainer for me.

My inner scheptic wonders about that milage, if it were listed at £500, I might get interested and chase it up to that price, but at £2000 start I would just scroll past it. Maybe there are a fair number feeling like this.

I agree starting price to high it would easily reach that if started at a more realistic price.
I know how these things work look at bikes advertised by DK's they start far to high and don't sell then there re listed for the same price and gain a lot of interest but don't normally sell,Then normally the third time there listed at a more sensible price people then bid thinking there getting a bargain and then they often sell for the same or even more than the original price.

Although its very original it would probably need lots spending after being stood for so long, my restored 500 that I had to sell last year only fetched £2,400, yet my tatty one needing lots of work fetched £1500 a couple of months ago. I think prices are still rising so buy them now!

Agree with Pete, at least 3k to restore and then what have you got? - a nicely restored bike that owes you 5k+...i think the market is strong, especially for clean, original, low mileage sohc 4's.

Looks like it could be a nice useable daily hack ......agree would cost a fortune to restore to A1...
I'd keep it as it is ..I like em when they look used as long as everything works ok. Pick the parts up as you need them keep it running
You can't fake 40 year old patina ??

I think it would be a crime to restore that, apart from removing the dangerous front mudguard.
