CB550 Cylinder Head Oil Seals + Nuts
« on: March 03, 2015, 12:46:36 PM »
Hi All

New to the forum and just in the process of rebuilding my 550 engine.

Does anyone know were to get the cylinder head oil seals from + what nuts are require for the cylinder head itself?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

What seals, they are all "O" rings and should be in a gasket set, the nuts are flanged with a 12 mm hex so need to be genuine Honda they also have a thick washer under them

Hi Bryanj

Thanks for the reply.  These are the ones under the valve cover.  You have to remove them to get to the head bolts.

Were would you get the head bolts from.  Only place i really know is David Silver spares but i cant seem to find them listed.

Thanks

Sam

Hi Sam & welcome,

It's often best to call DSS on 01728 833020 rather than relyng solely on their website.

Cheers,

Hi Sam are you asking about the rubber "pucks" the flat rubber seals over the holes above the main head studs, 6 required part number 91318-300-013, the nuts are 90236-300-000 12 required, and the thick washers 90485-035-000 12 required.
Love the 500 and 550 have a 500 called Lazarus under restoration

A "decent" gasket set has those rubber dokikies in it, not being a yank i refuse to call them Pucks but will admit to Pontefract cakes
